Using Prayer As Your Crutch

“Using Prayer as a Crutch.”
It means telling someone that you are going to pray for them, but do nothing to help them personally. Even worse, many times we say “I will be praying for you”, and not once pray for that person.

Prayer is powerful, but it is not intended to be a crutch or excuse for not being hands-on in God’s work. Pray for people as you are actively offering them help. Pray for ministries as you are actively investing your time and money into the mission. Pray for people to be saved as you are actively living a life that reflects Jesus in your own life.

What will happen when God asks for an account of what He has given us?
Who are Christians? We are the Body of Christ. The Body of Christ works together to further the work that Christ has given us to do. Everything we have should be used for whatever God has purposed.

Scripture in this video:
Jonah 1:3
‘But Jonah rose up to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord . So he went down to Joppa, found a ship which was going to Tarshish, paid the fare and went down into it to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord . The Lord hurled a great wind on the sea and there was a great storm on the sea so that the ship was about to break up. ‘

Acts 2:41-47
‘So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls. They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles. And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common; and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need. Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.’
